Little Gem! Dropped in for breakfast while staying at nearby Air BnB and couldn't have done better. Walking distance. Lovely welcome, warm and cosy with nice outside space for sunny days. Best Avocado, poached eggs and tomato on beautiful tomato bread I've had, 5* and hubbies garlic mushrooms on tomato bloomer equally well made and tasty. Good pot of fresh Yorkshire tea, of course. Even treated myself to a few pots of their preserves to take home, they looked so packed with good fruit. Couldn't resist. Well worth a visit. We'd be back tomorrow but they're not open Sunday.

What an absolute gem of a find! This cafe just screams out QUALITY. It has beautiful food, that’s obviously made with love and attention to detail, with a menu and specials that has something for everyone s taste. Eat inside, outside or take away... you will not be disappointed. I am writing this review having come from a catering/ restaurant/banqueting background, so I appreciate good quality food and service, so I’ll give credit where credit is due. The price does reflect the quality of product, so don’t expect a cheap basic butty shop here as this is York and you certainly get what you pay for. Please do not take that to be any sort of a negative in any way, as I believe it most definitely is value for money. This review is my second visit now, but definitely NOT my last. My first time was just in passing, where I treated myself an amazing, huge, home made pork and cranberry sausage roll, but also I couldn’t resist the temptation of picking up a lush brownie and cookie for later. Today I’ve gone for their home made American pancakes with maple syrup and beautiful (locally sourced) streaky bacon see photo. Delightfully large thick and fluffy pancakes, sooooo tasty! I also had to try a portion of their rather lovely chips, and this is where the foodie in me has to point out that they are “ Skins On - Twice Cooked” so beautifully fluffy and golden. Next time in I’ll definitely be trying one of the breakfasts, before systematically working through the rest of their menu. The staff were fantastic, warm and welcoming and the cafe is lovely, clean and cosy, with plenty of seating. Delightful atmosphere and now most certainly on my saved favourites list. I highly recommend this delightful treasure as a well worth visit. I’d like to congratulate the owner and staff, well done.

A great way to start the day! The breakfast was delicious and good quality, very home cooked :) staff and owners are very friendly. We were given lots of nice recommendations of things to do in York. Very glad our Airbnb hosts recommended this! Cakes looked wonderful but we were too full to have one. We cycled there and there is cycle parking out the front. Full English large and normal pictured. (Mine has black pudding replaced with hash brown)

A fabulous first time visit on NYE with the family - we had a few different dishes and festive drinks and really enjoyed all of it. Service was lovely, they apologised for a wait on drinks but we didn’t mind at all as it’s NYE and the whole place was packed! Highly recommend as a family friendly place to visit. Will definitely be back again :)

A lovely bespoke venue on our doorstep. Delicious food and great service every time we visit! Today we had a girly lunch and every meal was perfect. The wine was icy cold and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for another fab visit - see you again soon!
